We do not clearly remember where the tradition originated from, but meetha after every other (if not every) meal has become an integral part of our diet routine. The City of Islamabad is no longer a dead city like it used to be. Today, it has become one of the best areas for quality food and of course, dessert that is a treat for the taste buds!
So if you decide to go for a drive in between the breath-taking Margalla hills wanting to satisfy your sweet tooth, here are five places you definitely need to visit.
The Hotspot Café
The main Hotspot branch which is more than a decade old is located in F-7 (near Howdy and Sattarbuksh) but now it is also in F-6 on Ataturk Avenue and one branch which recently opened in F-10 markaz. Best known for its funny and cheap posters and funky ambience, Hotspot has the best desserts, whether served hot or with a scoop of ice-cream. The most scrumptious stuff on their menu includes the squidgy chocolate cake, Nutella cheesecake and the very special Hotspot sundae.
The Nutella Spot
Located in the heart of the super crowded F-11 markaz, Nutella spot has certainly made a very special place in the hearts of Islamabadi youngsters when it comes to mouth-watering desserts oozing with Nutella. We absolutely love their Nutellicious Pizza and Nutella waffle that is topped with heavy scoops of ice-cream. Also, there is a live baking station so you can actually witness the magic they create with their food. Anything that you get from their specialties is divine!
This name started very small as a tuck shop at a local gas station and emerged as a full-fledged bakery as you see it today. Located at Beverly Centre in F-6, Burning Brownie promises you the gooiest cupcakes and cakes in town! No matter what time of the day it is, their cakes would be found the freshest of all. So what makes it special from the rest? The ingredients! Using imported chocolate which is bought to Islamabad on their request, the taste you find at Burning Brownie is unique in its own way making you crave for more.
Oh don’t we all know this one? Located on the main side of F-6 markaz near KFC, Chaaye Khana has become very well known among the people of Islamabad for its appetizing breakfast menu, but little did we know what experts these guys are at molten lava cakes that are so dense and moist they literally melt in your mouth! So if you’re passing by F-6 on a chilly evening thinking of something to munch on with a cup of coffee, why not kuch meetha hojae?
Looking for a sweet treat in the midst of a vintage ambience? Tuscany Courtyard is the place for you! Originally famous for its high-tea menu and brunch, this is the one place you should definitely check out on your next family trip. Because these people serve the most mouthwatering bread and butter pudding you would ever come across on your table. Served with caramel topping and an ice-cream scoop, the taste of the pudding is truly delectable. A must try if you’re looking for something new!
