The next time your mother cooks these, you need to stop yourself from making all those disgusted faces. These are energy stores that are pretty high in fiber but also very high in protein. Now while many of you might be fearing the amount of gas they make your body produce, do know that they need to be soaked in water overnight to get rid of that property. If you are using the canned ones, however, that does not need to be done.
Peanut Butter
Even raw peanuts are a remarkable source of protein, how can peanut butter be ignored? Not only does it help you in building mass, it also helps you maintain a lean body and you are less likely to gain unwanted fat if you stick to that peanut butter jar.
Pepperoni
We are talking about beef pepperoni here and not chicken, please note. Not only are pepperoni slices rich in vitamins and minerals, it is also a good but light source of protein if you are looking forward to a quick snack. All you need is whole wheat bread slices with pepperoni in between, or of course cheese and pepperoni pizza.
Broccoli
Pretty sure you must have heard of spinach being a source of protein, but did you know that broccoli isn’t far behind in the race? A few years back, this wasn’t exactly easily available in supermarkets but now even itwaar bazaar has it. Also, if you think it tastes absolutely disgusting just like they show you in those cartoons, you are wrong because they aren’t even half as bad. Chop some up and add it to your salads and soups.
