We all absolutely drool over small waists, whether it’s men or women. From the very beginning, we as children have been programmed into believing that the perfect body needs to have a tiny waist, no matter how abnormal it may look for some. All the credit for this goes to the Disney princesses with the perfect hourglass body type that, if a real person would fit into, would turn out to be something very disturbing for the eyes. Recently, a lady in the States went through surgery to make her body shaped like a Barbie doll’s figure, and man! It was a horrible sight.
Yes, we understand the whole hype behind a normal patli kamar but to what extent can you go to achieve it? Not everyone in their right minds would opt for an extreme surgical process. So let’s just be the usual brown community and stick to our tips and totkas now, shall we?
Forget About Spot Reduction
This term certainly isn’t as fancy-schmancy as it sounds, all it refers to is the reduction of fat or simply losing weight in one specific area. Which certainly isn’t entirely possible, PERIOD. You just cannot easily get a 20-inch waist while the rest of the body remains unchanged. You expect to look like Beyoncé, well it certainly isn’t going to work that way. The entire body needs to undergo a bit of toning here and there and that is when you’ll get into shape.
Stick To Core Exercises
Once again, nothing very fancy behind this one. All you need to do is focus and inculcate more core exercises into workout plan and these are the kind of exercises that basically focus on the abdomen muscles. Not only do core exercises focus on building abs and bringing your waist back into shape, it also helps you strengthen your back muscles and improve the posture. You may also choose to include crunches in your plan, they are said to be pretty effective in the waist area.

Create An Illusion
You might have heard this from a lot of fitness masters and people who train others. Make your chest area and shoulders appear broader in order for your waist to appear smaller, simple as that. Speak with your gym instructor to find out which chest and upper body exercises would be the best suitable for you and begin to work, work, work, work, work, work!
Monitor Your Diet
Pretty sure you saw this one coming now, didn’t you? Definitely no escaping this one! However, it’s really not going to be the usual ‘eat healthy drink more water’ conversation, so do hear us out. Include more foods in your diet that contain fibers and whole grains. You can start off by having muesli for breakfast (Google what that is, and yes its available in Pakistan). Also, eat more fruits and veggies. However, about the fruits, do not just cross limits because then you are bound to consume more sugars than you planned, which would actually backfire. The best way you can monitor your diet progress is by using Nutright‘s services. Our app is available on android and coming soon on Apple app store.
