Ahhhh… the first week of the dreaded weight loss duel is over. If my last post has crossed your eyes, you would know that I, Armaghan, was coerced into challenging Umar for a weight loss duel. We had to follow our personalized diet plans for three months. The first week has now ended. Following is a brief description of all the highs and lows of my first week with the program.
My daily job does not allow me to settle into a routine. I travel a lot within Pakistan and mostly live on food from restaurants, hotels and street corners (sometimes). As discussed earlier, I am in love with food and missing my favourite dish on the expense of eating a vegetable salad was not an exciting deal for me at all. Non-availability of home made food was a challenge as well. However, my nutritionist was supportive enough to modify my diet plan keeping in mind my routine. He got calls from me at awkward hours just to clarify if an omelette can replace a boiled egg or eating a chapatti instead of bread would be possible.
I had planned to exercise for five days during the week. I managed one day of exercise. My routine and laziness, both, are to be blamed.
The Weight Loss
At the start of the program and after going through my weekly diet plan, I was of the view that this is not going to happen. Either I would lose interest in the diet plan, or I would not be able to lose weight. Whenever I felt like cheating on the plan, I would think about how short this weight loss challenge is and how much I could change by simply following this plan. During the week I managed to lose 1.5 kgs which is lower than the target that was set but way better than the expectation I had.
Despite not exercising and not following the plan to the dot, I managed to lose this much weight. The fact that Umar lost 3.5 kgs in the same week is also haunting me. I am now super motivated and excited to actually try and better this. I was not a believer before but I am now. Week 1 belongs to Umar. I still have 11 weeks to win.
Need your support people. Lets not allow our bosses to win. Join me in my weight loss journey.
