Everyone has to look absolutely flawless on a Pakistani wedding. Whether it’s the bride and groom themselves or the dulhan ki chachi ki parosi ki beti, all those jhumkas have to be on point and the skin needs to be all prepped to be dipped into that bag of flour (no offense, khawateen!) So while you trust your concealer for covering up everything on your face, you cannot ignore all those blemishes and pimples that become a bit too much for even MAC to hide. Worry no more! As we have for a bunch of great tips for a flawless looking skin for all those selfies.
Battle Against The Blackheads
So how many of you actually carry an entire family of clogged pores on your face? I’m sure more than half of the Pakistani awaam would raise their hands to this. With the kind of grime and moisture our environment has, being a Pakistani does not free you from blackheads or whiteheads or worse, both. So a week before the wedding, get rid of all those by taking steam first to unclog the pores on your face. Next, apply cucumber extract all over your face, neck and especially the T-zone, leaving it on for fifteen minutes. Another option is to apply tomato juice and honey as a mask, leaving it overnight and washing it off later.
Fair And Lovely Chehray Ka Jalwa
Is there really a way to go a few tones lighter on your skin without an overdose of filters? According to our dadis and nanis, yes! Combine milk and honey in equal proportions and use it as a face pack regularly. The quality of milk itself as a whitening agent doesn’t need any more emphasis. Another tip is to use orange zest and orange peel in combination with sandalwood. The vitamin C component in citrus fruits, especially oranges, helps clean the skin free from any toxins, making you look fresh.
Dealing With Skin Breakouts
Oh how those pimples and all that acne somewhat gets notified about the wedding approaching? When left untreated, all it leaves you with is weird scars and of course, taunts from all those desi aunties. So before you start getting all frustrated and begin picking on your acne (which is never a good idea), consider gentle exfoliation and regular cleansing of the skin. Also, applying raw honey with the help of a q-tip also makes a difference. Just leave it on overnight and watch it work besides this plenty of hydration via drinking water is important (Read: Highly Important)
When Your Dark Circles Are Larger Than Your Social Circle
How many times do you hear people asking you why you don’t get ample amount of sleep at night? Yes, your face shows it all and more than that, those DSLR pictures just sometimes fail at hiding those dark circles. So if you’re yet another halkon ke sataye Pakistani, mint is your new best friend. You can either mix mint leaves with tomato juice and lemon, or just simply put a few drops of lemon juice with the leaves in a blender, make it into a paste and apply it underneath your eyes. Repeat this frequently and you’re bound to see a change!
Hocus Pocus, Brows Are Our Focus!
Gone are the days when super sleek and super arched brows used to be a real thing and apart from getting them threaded, nobody actually cared much about them. The brow game has changed this year and thick, bushy eyebrows are what everyone has been chasing. Don’t have thick eyebrows? You don’t need to go for an eyebrow pigment, no. All you need is a mixture of castor oil and olive oil in a bottle. Take a spare mascara wand, clean it from all excess gunk and apply it to your eyebrows every night before bed. Do this for a week and watch your eyebrow hair grow!
