“Kaam, kaam aur sirf kaam” was what our Quaid said to our people as a nation back in 1947…let’s fast forward that to about 50 years and where are we? We, The Pakistani People, are for some reason very lethargic and truth be told: We hate working! When we apply this logic to self-maintenance the case is no different; we just can’t find a good enough reason to get out of our beds and move a little.
It is incredibly hard to workout and we know it, but it’s not impossible. We just have to get some motivation to do so, so here are listed a few ways that could help us lazy bums work our way to workouts.
Keep Old Clothes
One of the most painful things to witness in a lifetime is not being able to fit into your own clothes. Imagine trying to fit into the shirt you had stitched last season and not even making it half way through. Instead of throwing away clothes that don’t fit, keep them and wear them to see what you did to your body that you can’t even fit into them anymore. Make it a goal to get yourself back into that old shirt, which just might be enough to make you work out.

Google Body Transformations
When you see that others have done it becomes easier to do it too. Instead of searching for workout diets google weight loss before and after and try adding Pakistan to it to keep it a bit more realistic. Seeing pictures of people like you changing themselves from head to toe can encourage you to say that “yeah I can do it” and seeing how more confident, happy and let’s be honest attractive they look might just make you move your body a little.
Buy Some Exercise Gear
Okay let me just highlight one of the most annoying things brown peeps do when working out especially women, we wear our everyday clothes even to a gym. Why? It’s like wearing your dirty shalwar kameez to school; it just kills the whole vibe. To get yourself to workout get yourself some exercise clothes. Not necessarily Nike or Adidas, just something sporty and not what you wear every day. Those clothes will give you a purpose to get up every time and get dressed for the gym.
Make A Deal With A Friend
Promises with a significant other like friends are important. We keep them. Make working out interesting by making a deal or signing a contract with a friend. This deal will make you accountable and then you will have to suffer the consequences if you skip your workouts and do not uphold your end of the deal; maybe some pricey gift, or a large sum of money, just something that would scare you to death that you would have to do if you break the deal. Evil, isn’t it?
Think About Embarrassing Situations
Unlike our white friends in the world, we desi people aren’t exactly comfortable with the idea of being physically exposed or in simpler words naked in front of others. So imagine for a second a situation where you have no choice but to take your shirt off in front of others, could be your friends, maybe because there is something crawling up your back and when you do; trust me the focus will not be on what’s crawling, it’s going to be the layers of uneven fat on your body. Do you want everyone to see that? If not; working out is your only option.
