5 Detox Drinks You Need To Try ASAP!
Lime Tea
This is one of the most common remedies for losing weight in the desi community. Lemon for sure has acidic properties and is capable of cleansing your gut, hence, before you take breakfast, kick-start your day with a cup of warm water that has 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, 1 teaspoon honey and a pinch of kaali mirch (black pepper) added to it. Not only this eases digestion but also helps you burn fat.
Breakfast
Starting your meal of the day, choose bran bread/whole wheat bread over the milky white kinds and make this a permanent staple in the house for your meals. Take low-fat milk and cottage cheese, or if you aren’t a very big fan of that begin your day with an apple. For those chai lovers out there (Pakistan has them in plenty) take wheat rusk (paapay) instead of the white ones.
Snacking
Like all other smart fitness guides, Zubaida aapa too believes in dividing your meals into portions, taking small meals throughout the day instead of big ones three times a day. Hence, take a fruit after 2-3 hours of taking your breakfast. And right after 3 hours of doing that, go for skimmed yogurt. Make sure to snack on low-fat stuff, and for dinner avoid rice.
Beetroot
Commonly known as chukandar in Pakistani households, beetroot has some real benefits in the world of fitness and weight loss. Make it a part of your salads regularly, or ask your Ammi to cook it as a meal with chicken or beef. Other than that, Zubaida apa suggests consuming it in boiled form for weight loss as well as glowing skin. If you choose to cook it as a meal, include a few of its leaves that we’d otherwise usually throw away. This way, there won’t be any bittersweet taste in the dish.
Red Lentils
Zubaida aapa has also shared a special weight loss tea that includes cooking a teaspoon full of lentils in 4 cups of water until the consistency ends up to 1 cup. Refrigerate this overnight and in the morning, separate the lentils away and add a pinch of salt, black pepper as well as half a teaspoon of lemon juice to the water and drink away.
