If you are able to hit the gym each day with fresh skin and it’s doing you good, you are one of those few lucky lads that don’t have to deal with skin problems that come as a bonus feature for working out, at least for most of us. Because hey! Your body is being pushed against its normal routine, undergoing so many hormonal changes, the temperature regulation inside is going hullabaloo so skin problems are pretty much expected. They become even a bigger deal for people who join the gym in order to lose some weight for that upcoming khandaan mein shaadi (might as well be their very own, who knows?) They do manage to lose some but what about all that has been gained on the face?
Something that even a hundred layers of concealer fail to conceal for many. Anyways, Team Nutright did some of its workings and has managed to list down a few ways that can help prevent post-workout acne.
How To Get Rid Of Post-Workout Soreness: Tips That Really Work
Hands off!
A lot of us have this uncontrollable habit of just wiping the sweat off our faces from the back of our hands, and doing this at the gym is no exception. Especially when those very hands and arms are coming in contact with so much bacteria that’s resting on the gym equipment and elsewhere. You are basically transferring it again and again to your face, what else do you expect to appear then besides acne? This is why we suggest you always carry a small face towel to the gym that you can keep at hand.
Scrub and cleanse
Take care of your skin and start now if you have not been doing this till now: buy yourself a cleanser and a daily exfoliant scrub. Apricot scrubs work wonders, and if your skin isn’t too sensitive you can go for a lemon and citrus one as well. Make sure to come up with a skin routine that is easily manageable and make sure you go to bed with a nicely cleansed and moisturized face, leaving no gunk behind that can clog pores. All desi households need to get rid of the notion that skin care products are for women only.
Increase your water intake
And maintain it! Keep a water bottle at hand, not only in the gym but at home as well. It helps to keep a track of how much water you have consumed throughout the day and just keep refilling it. Because if your body is dehydrated, your sweat just becomes more saturated in electrolytes and that often leads to clogged pores because your face is carrying so much muck.
Tie your hair back
Now you might be thinking, what has this got to do with acne? But this really does matter a great deal for some, especially if you like to wear your hair in a fringe at the forehead or just in a long cut generally. Because many times, especially if you have an oily scalp, sebum from the head easily gets transferred to the strands and if those rest on your face, the skin over there is not spared from the bacteria at all. This can easily lead to acne.
