It is all about the right choices, proper knowledge and consistency. Let’s just say you have divided your diet plan in to multiple portions, that is how it is supposed to be, and these portions consist of proteins, minerals, water, micronutrients, a certain healthy amount of calories and carbohydrates.
Now the point where calories and carbs are concerned is one of the critical points in an ideal diet plan as carbs are the essential source of energy for our bodies. Due to lack of proper knowledge we often tend to forget that adding just any carbohydrates source is not going to work in affirmative. Not at all. There are multiple sources of carbs out there but you need to figure out the difference between the good carbs and the bad carbs. Yes, even carbs are good and bad.
Only good carbs should be incorporated in to the diet plan in order to execute a perfect and highly functional diet plan. In the article we will tell you few of the differences on the basis of which good carbs are separated from bad carbs, here is how;
- Simple and Complex Carbs:
This is the difference in the chemical make-up of the carbs and what is their fate inside our bodies. The simple ones are usually bad and the complex ones are the good ones. The complex carbs usually consist of legumes and whole grains. These have longer chain structure which our metabolism breaks down by consuming more time and producing even amount of energy which fuels the body for a longer period of time. Whereas the simple carbs are usually the instant source of energy and they are readily broken down in the body elevating blood glucose levels which does more harm than good. These simple sugars consist of all the candies, sugar, white rice, white pasta, white bread, potatoes (not boiled) and other desserts. One of the biggest dieting mistakes we make in our diet is consuming simple carbs.
- Fiber and nutritional Content:
The good carbs are usually rich in fiber along with glucose thus fruits are a perfect example of simple come complex carbs source for instant healthy boost in energy. Whereas the bad carbs do not contain fiber they are only rich in calories and glucose. So always brown rice, bread and whole grains are preferred over white ones which are mostly processed.
- The Ingredients glycemic index:
It is very often said that always buy a product by looking at its ingredients. The amount mentioned in front of every product is basically its glycemic index i.e. the amount of sugar present in the product and how readily it will be utilized in our body. The lower the glycemic index value is the healthier the product or the carbohydrate is. The unhealthy carbs usually have higher glycemic values. The good carbs have usually glycemic values around 30s or 40s. Any value higher than this would most probably be bad carb.
So always know what you are eating what outcomes it will produce in to your body. Because there is just no replacement of health. Ask in comments section if you couldn’t understand anything related to good carbs VS. bad carbs.
