Beginning with the hit drama serial Mausam that made us fall in love with her as ‘Saman’ and then continuing with the heart wrenching story behind Diyar e Dil, Hareem Farooq has smartly made her way into the showbiz industry and so far she has been very impressive, not only with her acting skills but also with being a proficient film producer (you would know if you have seen Janaan). But is that all we love her for? Not entirely. Her weight loss journey and her fitness goals have never been something hidden from her fandom but are rather proudly shared so that anyone can benefit and learn from them.
This Is How Ayesha Omar Lost So Much Weight
When it all began
Hareem was in her late teens when she entered the industry, at the age of 19 she was pretty chubby and that is when she realized that all the baby fat just had to go away. What’s surprising is the fact that she did not go on any crash diet programs or surgeries to get rid of all that, rather she resorted to 100% organic foods and natural ways, making a real effort to attain a healthy body.
What worked for Hareem?
Her main focus has always been on her diet and she takes small meals everyday having a three hour interval in between. Also, another thing that she really emphasizes on is not eating anything right before bed and having dinner at least two hours before hitting the bed. Green tea is her best friend, something that she manages to never let go of, even during shoots when she has a jam packed schedule and it’s hard to squeeze in workouts and fancy dieting. Leafy greens are her favorite and she takes a protein rich diet. Her workout routine consists usually of high intensity interval training (HIIT) and cardio. She kicks off her day with a cup of cappuccino and if she’s not rushing, she takes an omelet or a fruit.
What keeps her motivated?
Many TV shows have questioned her about what keeps her motivated with her fitness goals, does she have a personal trainer like all those other models and actresses do? Surprisingly, she doesn’t, she does all her diet planning herself and is very fond of keeping her own research about what best suits her body and what works well. It’s that pleasure of seeing herself so fit that keeps her motivated. She’s also very enthusiastic about being sound at mind and keeps herself occupied with friends and family, as well as adult coloring books and movies during her leisure time.
Embracing curves
Something that really sets Hareem apart from other actresses and women in the media industry is her belief that every size is beautiful and that a fit body matters more than an hour glass figure. For Hareem, size zero has never been the goal; rather she is very much accepting of curves on women and encourages women to embrace them. She puts her physical health and mental peace on top of the societal pressure of being totally skinny and says that she loves herself this way.
