We all must have understood by now what a great deal a good night’s sleep matters to keep our bodies healthy and our minds serene. A good and well-balanced sleep cycle is essential to your physical as well as your mental health and there’s certainly no escaping this fact. How to do that is the real question. Choosing between Facebook and bed-time? Most of the times, it’s even about picking both.
Not only does this stress out your mind but also acts as a barrier to weight-loss, if you are willing to cut off some fat. Here’s how you can get the essential amount of sleep you need, the following might just help you go to bed on time.

Don’t Eat A Large Meal For Dinner
Okay, in all honesty, that nihari can get irresistible at the dinner table and therefore, we understand that you cannot just ignore all those heavy, ghee-laden foods all the time. But what matters here is not to make a habit out of it. That is because heavier meals are best suited to daytime, when you are walking around, doing house chores maybe, and the food gets digested bit by bit gradually. But night-time just includes you binging on all that grease and then sitting in one position and doing work or social networking. It would keep you up at night without getting digested. A lighter meal, on the other hand, wouldn’t be too hard on you and you’ll be able to sleep with a sound stomach.
Wake Up Earlier Than Usual
It doesn’t get any simpler than this now, does it? Just try doing it once, maybe? Force yourself to wake up early. Even on the weekends (please don’t make that face!) and when you do that, make sure you are tuning your body to wake up at the same time each day. You can even do all that night-time work in the morning when you wake up early, and most probably then you would get so tired throughout the day that you’d eventually want to hit the bed as soon as possible. Try not to take a nap in between though!
Make A Bed-Time Ritual
This one really tunes you, it’s your mind’s way of telling your body that it’s almost time for bed now and the day needs to end. All you gotta do is pick one habit, or a series of habits to do before you hit the bed, each day. Whether it’s reading a novel for fifteen minutes, or taking off all that makeup with a cleansing routine, anything basically that relaxes you. This will eventually become your healthy bedtime routine.
No Gadgets Before Bed
Please don’t stop reading just because you read that heading. It’s essential to make this one a habit because you know it and we all know it as well how much our routine of using gadgets at night affects our sleep and just doesn’t let us go to bed. It’s the devil’s trap, to be very honest. For most of us, THIS is our bed-time ritual that we shall now get into bed and start using our lappies or smart-phones until our eyes burn and we fall asleep. Also, head over to the Play Store in your phone and download the Nutright app in order to make your phone-time a bit more productive. Nevertheless, allow yourself to take a break from gadgets at least an hour before going to bed.
