Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we Pakistanis literally break the fast with our parathas and halwa puris. when health experts say that your breakfast should be filling they didn’t mean that you should consider yourself a kachre ka daba and throw in food like you’re going to jail tomorrow and it’s the last day of your life as a free man. A filling breakfast entails anything that keeps you full and energizes you till your next meal but there are certain foods that have become trendy as breakfast foods and are being consumed even by us Pakistanis when initially these were created by westerners for westerners but no we desi peeps love being mod-squad, and why not; this stuff is easy to make and it tastes great but know this: it makes you fat and most likely constipated.
What To Do On Days When You Don’t Feel Like Working Out
Cereals
The No. 1 angrezi food to avoid are cereals whether they are Corn Flakes or Koko Krunch, that’s a big no no. Cereal is a major sugar-bomb, scientists and nutritionists highly disapprove of starting your day with a power packed bowl of cereal unlike what many brands advertise. Cereals may consist of fiber, may give you a little bit of calcium and heck; they’re yummilicious but that one bowl (that usually turns into 2 or 3 of them) is a complete serving of sugar that will spike your blood sugar and insulin levels that will energize you instantly but after a little while of being active (or maybe after taking a dump) you will feel low again because you have used up all the energy and now your blood sugar level is coming down which will make you crave for having more sugar and you WILL consume something that only satisfies your niyat but not your tummy and this cycle will go on and on.
Smoothies
Smoothies look good to the eyes and taste wow to the tongue and a huge misconception that many people who wish to shed the pounds have that misconception that smoothies are all fruit and veggie so they have to be healthy and non-fattening; well that is completely untrue. Health experts say that if you blend fruit, the natural sugars are released from within the cells walls of the fruit becoming free sugars. These free sugars, in simple words, are the sugars that are excessively added to food products to enhance their flavor and these make you crave for having more sugar and then make you fat. So avoiding the smoothies is a sensible choice, an occasional glass is okay but no more than that. (Thin peeps; you have an advantage here)
Donuts And Muffins
They are round, they are fluffy, they are yum, but they are also fat. Donuts and muffins come in the “bakery goods” category of the food products and bakery products are a straight out “STAY AWAY” zone according to dietitians and nutritionists. Know where the term “muffin top” came from? Next time you want to eat a muffin give it a good look and then look up “muffin top” on Google, you’ll see.
Processed Meat
Bologna slices and frankfurter sausages and the quickest breakfast meal to make with a side serving of egg, mash potato, juice etc. These may be filling and appealing to the taste buds but these are processed forms of meat that consist of added sugars and the outer coating of that sausage you eat, that’s made of chicken fat and inside it’s nearly the same deal. Furthermore, perks of living in Pakistan: chickens are given growth hormones that make them grow at a retarded rate and this hormone, when in our body, function in fat retention.
