When I was a kid I used to see, my dad put on his tracksuit and joggers and leave home every day for something he called jogging, when I used to go cycling I saw women walking like they are on a mission to kill, kids used to skip ropes and run after each other screaming tag you’re it, oh there was this cool machine at home called a treadmill which after doing it myself did I realize that it wasn’t so cool.
# What is cardio?
All these things we like to call them exercises but in the world of fitness these are called cardio – short for a very boring term “cardiovascular”. These endurance exercises strengthen this system of our body increasing metabolism and helping with weight loss. Imagine if someone walked up to you and said “I do cardiovascular exercise every day”, I don’t know about you guys but I would’ve seriously perceived that as some sort of medical treatment instead of a workout, that’s why we call it a cardio, it sounds cool like the term whoop whoop or huzzah, when these words really make no sense until you look ’em up at Google.
# What you need for cardio?
Cardio involves every exercise that requires body movement at high intensity that gets the heart pumping and you huffing and puffing, just be careful that too much dil dharking and haanping might be a sign of a health problem and nobody wants “excessive weight; death due to overdoing cardio exercise” written on their death certificate now do we? For a cardio workout, you would require a few things, firstly
- Trainers or joggers
- Weights (depending upon the program you are choosing)
- Gym equipment (depending upon the program you are choosing)
- Warm up session prior to the workout
# A cardio workout suited for all
The most effective cardio exercises are those done at intervals, i.e; an exercise done at varying speeds having high reps for example HIIT; a very strenuous cardio workout that can be done at home and they are available with different variations online and these workouts can show fast results only when paired with a healthy lifestyle which you can manage with a little help from the Nutright team, who join you on your fitness journey and commit to you as long as you commit to changing your body and life.
# What is HIIT?
An HIIT; High Intensity Interval Training is a full body exercise routine usually lasting 20-30 minutes, which requires transitioning from low-intensity intervals to high-intensity intervals and can be done every day of course with the exception of a cheat day. This routine comprises of doing the exercise move for a specific time period at a slow or moderate pace then taking a few secs off if it is a requirement of the program you are choosing then repeating the same move at the fastest pace you can go like I said, high reps. You’ll be sweating and stinking at the end of your workout and before doing your workout, be sure to check paani ki tanki because you will be needing a shower once you’re done.
# Why do it?
HIIT may seem like it’s no big deal, it’s just 20 mins right? Oh it’s no joke; its hard and it requires stamina, but the few minutes everyday will definitely be rewarding. The routine helps speed up weight loss, toning the abs, reshaping and firming the bosom and thighs and simply increasing your stamina and endurance. So are you going to do something challenging today?
